Can I use The Difference Machine for just one stage of production?

Yes — that's the model. The pipeline is modular: bring us in for a single craft (story development, a writers' room, pre-production, VFX and compositing, post and finishing, delivery) or for the whole chain from development to delivery. We can work embedded in your team or run it as a full AI production in-house. You pay for the stages you use.

What can AI actually do in production today — and what can't it?

The headline-grabbing part — generating one spectacular shot — is the least of it. The value that actually changes a production is mostly invisible: holding continuity, versioning, and story decisions across an entire project, and closing the gap between what you want on screen and what you can afford. Hybrid production lets you shoot what matters and build the rest — a historical street, a crowd scene, a location you could never block off — on a green stage, broadcast-ready. What AI can't do is supply the vision: without a clear human creative intention it produces polished but empty AI slop.
